Representation matters
It was Marian Wright Edelman who once said, “you can’t be what you can’t see”. Currently, Black physicians make up only 5% of the physician workforce in the United States. When children have access to seeing themselves in spaces like medicine, the possibilities of the things they can dream and achieve are endless.
